Galway goalkeeper James Skehill has got people talking by sporting ankle socks in today's All-Ireland SHC final.

Perhaps he's trying to set a new trend by not wearing conventional socks like his team-mates. Dublin's Liam Rushe wore ankle socks against Galway in last year's Leinster SHC and later admitted to being taken aback by the reaction to his choice of footwear.

"I just felt like a woman in Saudi Arabia or something, flashing a bit of ankle. There was uproar over it," he said.
