Team news: No Walshe for Farney

July 13, 2018

Monaghan's Colin Walshe with Sean Gannon of Carlow

Colin Walshe has been left out of the Monaghan squad for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC Super 8s opener against Kildare at Croke Park.

The former All-Star defender shipped a heavy knock during the Laois game and was temporarily replaced by Dessie Ward as the Farney County ran out 0-19 to 1-11 winners at Pairc Tailteann.

There is just one indirect change from the five-point victory last weekend with Owen Duffy coming in at wing-forward for his first championship start of the season.

Monaghan (All-Ireland SFC v Kildare): Rory Beggan; Kieran Duffy, Drew Wylie, Ryan Wylie; Fintan Kelly, Vinny Corey, Karl O'Connell; Niall Kearns, Darren Hughes; Ryan McAnespie, Shane Carey, Owen Duffy; Conor McCarthy, Jack McCarron, Conor McManus.

Subs: Conor Forde, Conor Boyle, Barry Kerr, Dessie Mone, Neil McAdam, Paudie McKenna, Dessie Ward, Dermot Malone, Thomas Kerr, David Garland, Kieran Hughes.
