Tyrone's Padraig McNulty has failed in his bid to have a one-match suspension overturned.

The midfielder was shown a straight red card by referee Maurice Deegan following a heavy challenge on Lee Keegan in the Red Hands' Allianz League win over Mayo last Sunday. The incident left the 2016 Footballer of the Year with a dislocated shoulder that is set to rule him out of Mayo's Connacht SFC quarter-final against Galway in May.

McNulty attended a hearing of the Central Hearings Committee last night and will miss Sunday's clash with Kerry, assuming he doesn't lodge an appeal with the Appeals Committee.

Meath hurler Darragh Kelly has also had his one-match ban upheld arising from an incident against Carlow nearly two weeks ago.
