The Cross of Cashel will be presented for a final time after tomorrow night's All-Ireland U21HC final in Thurles.
Limerick and Wexford will do battle for the distinctive trophy, which was first presented in 1967 to Tipperary captain PJ Ryan. The Irish Independent is reporting that the GAA has already lined up a replacement cup which was procured at a recent auction in London.
Former Leinster Council chairman and presidential candidate Sheamus Howlin was tasked by the GAA's Management Committee to find the new cup.
