Rhode (Offaly) 2-8
St. Patrick's (Louth) 0-9
Anton Sullivan and Conor McNamee both found the back of the St. Patrick's net at O'Connor Park as Rhode progressed to a Leinster club SFC quarter-final against Navan O'Mahony's.
Niall McNamee was also in fine scoring form as the Offaly champions recovered from a sluggish start to avenge their two-point defeat to the Lordship outfit at the same venue three years ago.
The visitors led 0-3 to 0-1 thanks to points from Paddy Keenan and Karl White, but The Village were never headed after Sullivan grabbed their first major in the 10th minute.
Niall McNamee shot five points as Pat Daly's side went on to lead by 1-6 to 0-5 at the break.
Ken Garry kept Pat's at bay when he saved from Shane McCann early in the second half. The Joe Ward Cup holders were made to pay for that miss nine minutes from time when Conor McNamee added Rhode's second goal to put them out of sight.
Two Karl White points narrowed the gap to four as Pat's passed up on another goal chance before the imperious Niall McNamee had the final say for the locals.
