Former Limerick hurling captain Ollie Moran has been appointed coach to Tipperary club side Borrisoleigh for the coming season.

It represents Moran's first coaching role, though he was involved as a selector with the Limerick U21s in 2012. That team was managed by John Fitzgerald, who will also have an involvement in the Tipperary SHC this year as manager of Nenagh Eire Og, who he steered to a county final appearance last year.

Moran will work alongside former Tipp star Conor Stakelum, who is the Borrisoleigh manager for the year ahead. Borrisoleigh is the club of newly-appointed Tipperary captain Brendan Maher.
