Longford SFC final: Stalemate in Longford
October 15, 2012
LONGFORD SLASHERS 0-7
EMMET OG 0-7
Longford Slashers and Emmet Og will have to meet again to decide the destination of the Longford SFC title after the sides finished level in a low-scoring decider at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park yesterday.
Slashers appeared to be heading for a third outright success in-a-row but Sean McCormack had the final say when pointing a late equalising free for Emmet Og.
The town side led by 0-5 to 0-4 at the halfway stage but McCormack sent over two points after the resumption to give Emmet Og the lead for the first rime.
Two points from Stephen Phillips edged Slashers back in front before McCormack levelled matters late on to send the contest to a replay.
