Rathnew (Wicklow) 0-12
Edenderry (Offaly) 0-11
Rathnew earned a Leinster club SFC quarter-final date with St. Loman's, Mullingar after Jody Merrigan's close-range free secured a last-gasp first round victory over Edenderry at O'Connor Park.
The signs looked ominous for the Wicklow champions when they trailed by 0-5 to 0-9 at the break, but they staged a fine second half comeback to edge a tempestuous affair. With Sean Doyle landing seven points, Peter Brady's Edenderry were well on top in the opening period.
However, seasoned provincial campaigners Rathnew refused to panic as four points from Eddie Doyle and two from Merrigan helped them to overturn their four-point interval deficit.
