Kilcoole Camogie Club News
May 20, 2013
This week started with a win for our U14 girls in their match v Ballinacor - especially notable because of stand in mentors Stephen Kelly and Barbara Davis. Stephen and Barbara came to the rescue when Eugene couldn't make that match - great people to have on stand by!
Our U16s travelled to Donard on Wednesday to play local side Donard/Kiltegan. This was a very good performance from our girls and they battled hard losing out by a narrow margin.
Wednesday also saw the second day of our 'Introduction to Camogie' programme for Senior Infants and First Class girls in KPS.
Friday was sunshine all the way for our Golf Classic! A magic day to be out and about in Kilcoole Golf Club. Thanks to Billy who put in all the hard work behind the scenes in preparation for the day. Our thanks to our many sponsors and of course Congratulations to the Winners and everybody who played. We will have a full List of Winners and Sponsors next week.
Meanwhile, another hardy band of supporters were Bag Packing in Dunnes Stores in Newtown on Friday evening and all day Saturday. Thanks to everybody who helped in any way with our Bag Pack as well as Dunnes Stores for facilitating us.
On Sunday morning our Seniors had a Senior League match v Kiltegan - thanks to Kiltegan for a top class sporting game - great to see Erin, Roisin and Sinead back in action. Thanks to Newcastle GAA for the use of their pitch.
On Sunday also some of our U14 players got their first taste of inter county action when they got to wear the Wicklow jersey for the first time - the start of a long and enjoyable career playing for Wicklow we hope! Lots of training and Match practice in the meantime! Congratulations to Megan Byrne, Ciara Kelly, Sophia Smirnova, Sinead Conway,Ava Condon, Grace Bruton, Jade Byrne and Rachel Crimes.

On Monday 27th our U14s travel to play Aughrim in the League. Welcome back to our Grasshoppers and a special Welcome to new players.
