Bray Emmets manager Paul Carley feels that they were hard done by in their Leinster club IHC defeat to Seir Kieran last Saturday.

Carley feels that a key decision in the game which saw a Bray goal ruled out was the defining moment in the outcome of the contest.

Padraig Doyle’s goal was ruled out after it was adjudged that one of his team-mates batted the ball into play when in fact it was wide.

The Wexford native disputes the decision and feels had if the goal stood, it would have put his charges in a great place, leading by seven points going into the final quarter of the game.

Instead, the Offaly champions clawed their way back into the game and ran out three-point winners by the full-time whistle.

“He was clearly standing on the pitch when he batted it back out,” Carley stated to the Wicklow People. “I don’t know how they can call it wide or whatever, but these things go against you. There is nothing you can do about it. It’s disappointing really. That would have put us seven-points up five minutes into the second half.”

He added: “We need to learn from these defeats. We have to go back and refocus on the first game in Wicklow, because even though we won the final by ten points, that wasn’t a fair reflection on the championship, so we just get back to work in February and our focus turns to the championship then.”
