Rathnew club notes

Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name is not run by anyone in our club and is nothing to do with our club.

 

The new ladies football team have started training for the 2019 season. Every Tuesday at 8pm with another night to be decided on soon. The juvenile girls are also on Tuesdays at 7pm. We are always looking out for new members so if your interested contact Katrina Murphy 0878837577 to get involved. 

 

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 28th January. Numbers 5, 13, 22, 28. No

match 3's. At the time of writing the jackpot stands at €9,300. You can get your tickets from Doyle's, The Arches, The Village Inn, Rocky's, Healy's Mini Mart, Malone's, Dowling's butchers or any committee member.

 

The club has replaced and upgraded the equipment in the gym. Thanks to all who helped out getting the equipment ready. The membership for the gym is the cheapest around so if your interested contact Bobby 0851115514. Also any existing member please be aware that the code for the gym cannot be passed around and must stop immediately.

 

With membership now due we are giving everyone a new incentive to pay. The national club draw is a draw run by Croke park for every club in the country. Tickets are €10 each with first prize a car and many more brilliant prizes. All the money raised from the ticket sales is retained by the clubs. For further details see www.gaa.ie/nationalclubdraw So with this in mind anyone who sells 10 tickets for the draw their membership will be covered it's that simple. Managers from each team will be in contact for ticket collection or keep an eye on our Facebook page. Closing date is February 8th.

 

Hard luck to both county teams on their defeats on Sunday in the national league. Next up for the footballers is a home match to limerick on Sunday while the hurlers are away to Donegal Sunday week the 17th. Best of luck to all involved. 

 

Hard luck to Ross O Brien and his DIT teammates on their defeat to UCD in the Sigerson cup.

 

The draws for the championships made last week has our seniors in group A with Newtown, Tinahely, Hollywood, Kiltegan and AGB.

Our intermediate team are in group B with Stratford, Kilcoole, Donard/Glen, Carnew and Dunlavin.

Our junior B team are in group A with Baltinglass, Dunlavin and AGB.
