St Patrick’s GAA held the 2018 Annual General Meeting in the Clubhouse on Thursday November 29th at 8p.m. We wish the incoming committee the best of luck for 2019:

Chairman John Gill, Vice Chairperson Tara Gorman, Secretary Michael Murphy, Treasurer James Phelan, Registrar Eddie Leonard, Adult Football Gary Duffy, Juvenile section Alan Lalor, Children’s Officer Carmel Earls and Pro John Smith

Individuals interested in managing adult playing teams for 2019 should submit their name and management team proposals to the Secretary. Management teams will be appointed by the Executive Committee.

 

Congratulations to Club members Medb O’Keane and Aine Cahill picking up silverware with UCD while winning the Gourmet Food Parlour HEC Div 4 title.

 

Congratulations to all involved with CCM who defeated St Kevins CC 6-09 to 3-08 in the Wicklow Final of the Leinster Junior Hurling C 1 competition. Best of luck to CCM who will now represent Wicklow in the South Leinster Competition.

 

St. Patrick’s GAA Club hosted U20 Football Championship B Final Paudge Dooley Memorial Cup between Rathnew v Eire Og Greystones on Sunday December 2nd in Dunbur Park, Wicklow Town with referee Stephen Fagan. Congratulations to Eire Og who won the U20 Football Championship B Paudge Dooley Memorial Cup in Dunbur on Sunday with the full time score of Éire Óg 0-14 Rathnew 1-04. Our own Eugene Dooley who sponsored the cup in memory of his late Father presented the Paudge Dooley Memorial Cup to Eire Og captain Eoin Mc Teague.

St Patrick's Juvenile section held their AGM on Thursday 22nd November at 8pm in St Patrick's GAA Club House. Alan Lawlor opened the meeting. There was a frank and open discussion in respect of all age groups from Nursery to U17’s. The following were returned for ratification at the St Patrick’s AGM: Chairperson: Alan Lawlor, Secretary: Brian Gleeson, Treasurer: Brian Finnegan, Football Officer: Daragh McEvoy, Hurling Officer: Paddy Culleton and Committee Member: Gerry Phelan

 

After the end of a successful season for the senior football team, the players and management would like to take the opportunity to thank their sponsors for their support and generosity during the year.  It was very much appreciated and helped play a part in the team winning both the championship and league cup.  So a big thank you to the following:

Wicklow GAA Annual County Convention will be held on Monday 10th December at 7pm sharp in County Buildings, Joule Park Aughrim

 

Garden County Award Night will be held on Saturday 19th January 2019 in The Arklow Bay Hotel.

Please note every Wednesday from November 7th for the next 6 weeks the St. Patrick’s Club Gym is unavailable from 7:45-9:15pm due to the County U15 lads using the gym.

 

Sean Cox fundraiser: Meath football manager Andy McEntee is looking forward to next month's challenge against Dublin, joking that even a game of marbles between the rival counties would be competitive.

The anticipated sell-out encounter at Navan's Pairc Tailteann will take place on December 16 with all gate receipts going to the Sean Cox fund. McEntee is a club-mate of former St Peter's, Dunboyne chairman Cox who suffered serious injuries during an attack before a Champions League game involving Liverpool and Roma last April.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Margaret Ellen (Aileen) MARRON (née Meehan) (Swords, Co. Dublin & Drumcliffe, Co. Sligo) who has passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018 at Beaumont Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Frank; sadly missed by her loving children Siobhan, Peter, Deirdre, Donal, Emer and Aiveen, daughters-in-law Carmel & Maureen, son-in-law Eddie, partners Pascale & Michael, grandchildren Aislinn, Caitriona, Doireann, Frankie, Ruairi, Laoise & Rossa, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at her home on Monday (3rd Dec.) evening from 4 - 8 p.m. Removal on Tuesday (4th Dec.) morning to St. Colmcille's Church, Swords, arriving for 10 a.m. Mass followed by funeral to Rolestown Cemetery. No flowers please. Donations if desired to C.O.P.D. Support Ireland or the Beaumont Hospital Foundation.
