Foley, Michael

October 30, 2007
The GAA world was numbed as news of the untimely passing of Michael Foley spread around the county. While most were aware that the widely-respected Rapparees-Starlights clubman was suffering from a serious illness, his passing at such a young age still came as an immense shock. Michael was a staunch defender with several Wexford hurling teams at under-age level, and he was one of the most loyal and dependable clubmen ever to walk through the Bellefield gates. Off the field he commanded universal respect throughout the county, and our sympathies are extended to his wife and children on the loss of such a revered figure. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
