Oulart go to Mount Sion to get their man
January 12, 2007
The vacancy at Oulart-the-Ballagh arising as a result of Willie Sunderland joining the Wexford senior hurling management team has now been filled with Waterford man Kevin Ryan newly appointed as club manager.
The appointment of the former Waterford and Mount Sion player was ratified at the club AGM held on Friday night last. Ryan had been part of Justin McCarthy's management set-up in recent seasons. Ryan has five Waterford senior hurling championship medals as a player and was in charge as a manager in two recent Mount Sion championship title successes. He was involved with the Mount Sion team that lost out to eventual All-Ireland winners James Stephen in the 1982 semi-final, a team that included Brian Cody.
Richard 'Butch' O'Connor and Martin 'Sport' Dempsey will join Ryan in attempting to bring the county title back to Oulart, the team having missed out on the hat-trick of victories in 2006.
