The Late Richard Culleton

The Death of Richard Culleton, aged 79, from 66 Bishopswater has taken place.
Richard's health had deteriorated over the past few months and he had frequently been in and out of Wexford General hospital.

He was originally from Ballycullane where he played for the Gusserane Gaelic football team.
Richard hailed from a very strong sporting family and played for the Wexford football team in 1944 and 1945 and boasted four Senior county football titles.

Richard was also heavily involved with St. Joseph's community on the New Line road and also throroughly enjoyed backing horses from time to time.
He was once an employee of C.I.E where he worked as an guard for just over 40 years before he retired in 1987. Richard was very popular in the Bishopswater area and was very well known ad liked by all.
He enjoyed nothing more than the odd tipple in Browne's Pub where he would meet up with old friends.

Richard was also a very religious man whose faith remained until the very end and he attended Mass regularly until he fell ill. He loved going to Bride street Church and the Friary on a regular basis.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Frances (nee Breen) daughters Margaret, Mary, Patricia and Philomena and son Richard Jnr,. along with his brothers and sistersrichar, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and his wide circle of friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
