Cleary looking forward to challenge
May 02, 2013
Wexford minor manager Willie Cleary is looking forward to meeting Kilkenny in the Leinster MHC quarterfinal on Saturday.
The sides meet at Nowlan Park and Wexford will go into the match as massive underdogs against a Kilkenny side that demolished Laois in the opening round.
This is Wexford's first outing, which may be a hindrance, while they are also without joint-captain Kevin Foley who is out with a broken finger.
Nonetheless, Cleary is confident that his charges can give a good account of themselves this weekend.
"We have played both Galway and Tipperary twice. Limerick, Cork and Waterford along with the Dungarvan colleges," Cleary told the Wexford People.
"Their effort, commitment and attitude has been top class. We are looking forward to the challenge, which is a formidable one taking on Kilkenny at home.
"But our players have put in a massive effort, so hopefully this will not be left on the training ground."
