Wexford ready for Westmeath test

Wexford minor football manager Pat O'Roarke.
Wexford minor footballers are ready for their Leinster championship opener against Westmeath, according to manager Pat O'Roarke.

The sides clash at Cusack Park, Mullingar on Saturday afternoon and O'Rourke revealed to the Wexford People that preparations for the game have gone well.

"The squad of 35 players have put in a lot of work, played a number of games and are clearly looking forward to this championship opener," said O'Rourke.

"In all, the preparation has been good but playing away from home will make it more difficult. Westmeath with home advantage have been installed as the warmest of favourites, but I'm confident that we will make a game of it."
