Martin Jordan was born on July 6th, 1964, and died on September 15th, 2012. Martin Jordan was a gentleman. He was inoffensive, obliging and loyal and he was respected by all who knew him. In his chosen profession as a carpenter he was hard working, reliable, punctual and very skilled. Martin's main interest was the G.A.A. - Wexford and the H.W.H. Bunclody G.A.A. club. The amount of time, dedicated service and expertise he gave as a player, mentor and committee member was inspirational. He was a hard-working member of the under-age and adult committees for 20years and did great work as Chairman of the Lotto committee and the St. Patrick's Day Parade and club house subcommittees. Martin's playing career started on a high -winning Under-12 football in 1976 - and the following year he proudly captained the Rackard League - winning team.

Under the guidance of Noel O'Keeffe in Bunclody Vocational College, Martin won Under 15 and Under 17 county titles in 1979 and 1980. He was on the historic Minor squad when H.W.H. Bunclody captured their first title in 1981. Four years later, in 1985, he won a county Senior football championship medal, having lost a Junior county final a month earlier, and he won three Senior football league medals during the 1980s. The next chapter for Martin was as a club mentor for over 25years. He coached, was a selector and managed teams at under-16, Under-18, Under-21, Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels in both hurling and football. The many highlights for Martin were winning the Under-16 title in 1994, the Under-18 football titles in 1999 and 2000, the Under-21, title in 2005 and 2006. The positive influence that Martin had on the club and youth of the town and parish should never be underestimated, understated or forgotten. Martin had other interests and was a very keen golfer. He was a member of the Coollattin Golf and Fishing Club in 2009. His witty remarks on the course and the 'discussion' afterwards in the clubhouse will be missed, especially by his weekend fourball friends.

Martin was also involved in Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama Group since 2006 and was a valued member of the backstage/set building crews. They won several awards at festivals throughout the country, culminating with 'Best Stage Management Awards in both the All-Ireland Open and Confined sections in Athlone and New Ross. Martin's Requiem Mass was celebrated in the Church o f the Most Holy Trinity, Bunclody, by V. Rev. Laurence O'Connor P.P. Guards of honour provided by H.W.H. Bunclody G.A.A, club, Bunclody/Kilmyshall Drama Group and Bunclody Golf Club were a massive mark of respect for Martin. Martin will be greatly missed by all who knew him, his mother, Mrs. Molly Jordan, his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, relatives and many friends. R.I.P.
