County mourns loss of true GAA legend Andy Doyle

The Community of Taghmon was saddened to learn of the passing of well known local figure Andy Doyle on Monday. Andy was extremely well known and well thought of within the community and was involved with nearly every project that the community undertook.

He had a great passion for GAA and even pulled on the purple and gold to play for Wexford in the 1950s.

He also won a Leinster Minor Football medal in 1950, a railway cup medal with Leinster and captained St. Munn's to three titles.

Andy was one of the founding members of Taghmon community centre often referring to it as his 'pride and joy'.

He was heavily involved in the tidy towns, the Taghmon tops and he gave his time as a bingo caller for a number of years in Camross and Taghmon Community Centres. He will be sadly missed within the community and across the wider Wexford area.
