Former Wexford star Liam Dunne has been appointed manager of his native Oulart-The-Ballagh, just two months after retiring from hurling. Dunne played his last game against St. Martin's in the county senior hurling decider on November 2 and has been elevated to the manager's role after Kevin Ryan left to take charge of the Carlow hurlers. The 1996 All-Ireland winning half back, who will be assisted by selectors Jimmy Prendergast and Martin Dempsey, explained: "I went to the club's AGM, an opportunity arose and I said I'd take it. I thought that Kevin Ryan would come back to the senior job. But when Kevin got the Carlow job, I spoke with him and put my name forward at the club AGM."
