Louth's Wayne Kierans

Louth manager Wayne Kierans has had a decent start to his reign as he looks forward to his first Leinster SFC clash.

The Wee County had a decent run in the National League and were in the hunt for promotion right up until the last game.

This created a buzz in the county as they prepare for the Leinster Championship opener against Wexford this weekend.

Speaking to the Wexford People, Kierans admits that it is hard to not get excited about the Leinster championship as they look to make a good start as he returns to the sideline following a ban.

“It is another game, but there is something about the championship, no doubt about it, in all terms and ways,” said Kierans.

“I’m looking forward to it as well. It is my first experience in the Leinster senior championship, so I am looking forward to being back on the sideline for a start.

“So yeah, it going to be a good day, but let’s make it a really great day by turning in a performance.”
