Wexford’s Diarmuid O’Keeffe has given his manager Davy Fitzgerald his first headache of the month after he was injured in a club game.

O’Keeffe is expected to be sidelined from between four to six weeks after he suffered a dead leg playing football for his club St Anne’s in a senior league match.

This means he will struggle to be back to full fitness for the Leinster SHC opener against Dublin on May 19th.

Fitzgerald released his players back to their clubs last week and they will now focus on the club scene where two rounds of the football and hurling championships will be played.

O’Keeffe will miss four championship games for his club, two in hurling and two in football over the next four weeks.

The Wexford manager will be keeping his fingers crossed that none of the rest of his squad get injured, but with so many dual players in the squad, that may be a tough ask.
