Wexford manager Paul McLoughlin admits that they need to stop switching off in games.

A heavy defeat to Leitrim on the opening day of the NFL 4 campaign was borne out of a flat performance by the Model County.

Last Sunday, despite playing with a strong wind in the opening half against Antrim, the sides went in level at 0-05 each.

The introduction of Daithi Waters and a renewed confidence in the rest of the side saw them grind out the win, even though they had to play the majority of the second half with 14 men after Glen Malone was red carded.

McLoughlin told the Wexford People that they need to focus more and by breaking it down to concentrating on each half that might be more achievable.

“One thing we have learned is that we must focus on each half, not just the game. Right now we will train, focus on the opening half against London and take it from there, but we must make sure we do not waste what we have achieved and under perform,” stressed McLoughlin.

“We have achieved nothing to have us getting ahead of ourselves at the moment. There is still a lot of football to be played in Division Four.”
