ACFL Div 2
Shandonagh welcomed Castletown Finea Coole Whitehall to Kilpatrick on Wednesday evening, 15th May, for the re-scheduled Div 2 fixture. Despite missing a few players Shandonagh fielded a nice mix of youth and experience for this game. We welcomed back Aaron Craig from the Lebanon and it was also a first game at Intermediate level for Adam Keena.  Shandonagh Started slowly CFCW scoring a goal and 2 points within the first 10 minutes. However Shandonagh then settled and points from Kevin Boyle, Barry McWade, Alan Hickey and three from Danny Foster put Shandonagh up by 1 point at the break. Shandonagh 0-06 CFCW 1-02.The second half saw CFCW coming more into the game but some excellent Shandonagh defending from backs and midfield kept scores hard to come by. Second half scores from Aaron Craig (2), Alan Hickey and Barry McWade were matched by just 2 for CFCW to leave the final score Shandonagh 0-10, CFCW 1-04. Some noted good performances from Owen Conway, Donal Liddy, Philip Smyth and Kevin Hickey but overall a very good team performance and a welcome 2 league points.
Team: S Hickey, O Conway, D Murray, D Liddy, D Foster (0-03), K Hickey, D Conway, A Hickey (0-02), K Rabbitte, B McWade (0-02), D Barry, A Keena, S Reville, K Boyle (0-01), P Smyth. Subs: A Craig for A Keena, K Duffy for D Barry, N McDermott, B McVeigh, L Tynan.

ACFL Div 2
On Sunday morning last Shandonagh played at home against The Downs in the postponed fixture from a week earlier. Again, missing a number of regulars, Shandonagh fielded a very young team in this game on a morning which was perfect for football. From the start The Downs experience from the Senior ranks was in evidence as they opened up a 3 point lead and were on top for the first 15 minutes. However Shandonagh started to slowly get into the game and for the remainder of the half traded points with The Downs with the Shandonagh scores coming from Alan Hickey ( 3) and a superb run and score from Daire Conway. Half Time score: Shandonagh 0-04 The Downs 0-08.The second half saw a solid start from Shandonagh who scored the opening point through Daire Conway. However The Downs then came to life again and took another couple of scores to pull further away from us. However Shandonagh kept battling away and scored 2 further points through Daire Conway and Kevin Boyle. Final Score was The Downs 0-13 Shandonagh 0-08. While acknowledging the superior movement and guile of The Downs, Shandonagh have to take great heart from the display by such a young team who will have learned a great deal from this encounter. Noted good displays from Kevin Hickey, Daire Conway, Kenny Rabbitte and Sean Reville and we also saw a first game at Intermediate level for Luke Tynan. Team: S Hickey, O Conway, D Murray, D Liddy, P Duffy, K Hickey, P Smyth, A Hickey (0-03), K Rabbitte, A Craig, D Barry, D Conway (0-03), K Duffy, K Boyle (0-01), S Reville. Subs: B McVeigh, L Tynan, A Keena.Training continues Wednesday and Friday nights @7.45pm.
