Westmeath disappointed by venue snub

May 09, 2012
Westmeath officials have blasted the decision by the CCCC to host last weekend's All-Ireland under-21 final in O'Connor Park, Tullamore.

Former Westmeath chairman Seamus O'Faolain believes that the match between Roscommon and Dublin should have been held in Cusack Park, Mullingar and he was backed by many delegates at a recent county board meeting.

County Board secretary Pat Lynagh agreed and stated: "There was plenty of games we could have got here in Cusack Park and we'd be well fit to host the games and deal with any of the issues which may or may not arise out of it."
