Sligo's Charles Harrison chased by New York's Darren Moore during the Connacht SFC Quarter-Final
Former Mullingar Shamrocks clubman Darren Moore admits he was honoured to line out for New York in the Connacht championship.

Moore was corner forward for last weekend's provincial opener against Sligo, which the Yeats County won convincingly.

The talented forward has been in New York for the past 18 months where he works as a lawyer and he admitted to the Westmeath Examiner that despite the result it was a great occasion.

"I had seen and heard of what had happened in recent years, but at the same time when I was called in I was honoured to be in," said Moore.

"There's a great set up, a great trainer and backroom staff. It's very hard when you are based in New York and lads can't give the dedication and commitment that you can give at home."
