Under 14 Feile Na nGael Final.
The Féile na nGael final was played last Friday evening when in a repeat of last year's final Raharney successfully defended their Féile title. The game can only be described as a most enjoyable game of camogie where the complete range of skills were on display by the young players in both teams. The game was very well contested by committed and skilful players who gave everything for their clubs on the night.
Well done to Raharney who retained the Martina Poynton Memorial Cup. Raharney will now compete in the National Féile na nGael competition in Dublin from the 5th to 7th July this year.
Congratulations to Raharney, and also to Castletown Geoghegan players and also to those who work to coach the players - the work is certainly paying dividends. Many thanks also to the many supporters from both sides for their attendance at the game and for their generous support of Camogie in Westmeath.

St. Peter's Primary School Athlone takes up camogie
As part of a Leinster Camogie Council initiative St. Peter's Girls Primary School in Athlone recently took up a camogie coaching development programme. Under the guidance of AIT Sport and Recreation student Claire Kavanagh and Regional Development Officer Lizzie Flynn pupils who attended the school's homework club over a 10 week block were given the opportunity to play and try out the game. Every week approximately 35 pupils togged out to learn new skills and play the game. Great fun was had by all. The camogie initiative was a fantastic development for the region and it is planned and hoped that this type of development will continue in the new school term in September.
Special thanks to St. Peter's Primary School Principal Davina Dolan along with the staff who were so helpful during the programme. Finally well done to all the new up and coming camogie stars.
