Key attacker Denis Glennon is rumoured to have withdrawn from the Westmeath senior football squad.

The disgruntled player has missed the last two training sessions after leaving last Wednesday night's workout early, and his intercounty future is now up in the air.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Tyrellspass clubman will return to the county fold, but the manner of his sudden defection is understood to have caused considerable consternation amongst his former playing colleagues.

Free-scoring Glennon is widely regarded as one of the Lake County's finest talents and he would clearly be a massive loss to manager Brendan Hackett.
