ACL Div. 2 Mullingar Shamrocks 1-8 Ballymore 0-11.

 

A last gasp equaliser from a superb free kick awarded for over-carrying proved costly for Mullingar Shamrocks in this ACL Div.2 match played in Springfield.

Ben Maxwell was the man with the golden boot. Trevor Keena notched 1-1 in the opening ten minutes to set the stage for a possible victory but Ballymore recovered and at the interval the sides were level. We had our chances and might feel as this was a missed opportunity to add to our League points total but Ballymore will have a similar mind-set. It’s great to be competitive in the ACL Div.2 with our second team.

G4M&O begin their season v Longwood

 

Our G4MO ladies kicked off their season with a wonderful turnout at their first match of 2024 against Longwood GAA in a gloriously sunny Springfield on Tuesday evening. 

 

The beautiful conditions were conducive to some really exciting football being played. There were fine scores from both teams and great ball skills on display much to the delight of many of the young spectators that had gathered to support the ladies! 

 

A fantastic spread was put on in The Clubhouse after the match where both teams got a chance to mingle and great chats and craic was had while enjoying the refreshments on offer. A mingling that epitomised the spirit of the G4M&O concept.

 

Our Mullingar Shamrocks G4MO team really are going from strength to strength and are looking forward to their next outing at a blitz in Killoe, Longford over the May weekend. If anyone is interested in joining the team please contact [email protected].

LGFA Under-16 League: Milltownpass 3-10 Mullingar Shamrocks 1-9

Out Under-16 Ladies started their league campaign with defeat to Milltownpass. Despite the result it was a good team performance with some great scores. Well done to both teams on an entertaining game.

It was great to see a panel of 24 available for the game.
