St Loman's GAA Club Notes

June 01, 2020

Covid-19 Update:

We have decided to close our club grounds due to Covid-19. This is done for the benefit of the public. We urge everybody to stay healthy, limit social interactions and mind yourself. As Taoiseach Leo Varadkar exclaimed “Let it be said that when things were at their worst, we were at our best”. We can make a real difference here, please follow all HSE guidelines.

Fundraiser:

St Lomans have recently held a very successful fundraiser for the residents of two local nursing homes, The Newbrook and Cluain Lir. On Wednesday May 27th we delivered 75 individual gift bags for residents and 4 hampers for the staff on 4 wards in Cluain Lir. We also delivered 99 individual gift bags and 2 staff hampers to the The Newbrook nursing home. Our objective was to bring a little joy and happiness to the residents who have been cocooning since March 7th with no visitors. Our thoughts were also for the staff who worked tirelessly during this Covid 19 pandemic.

We would like to thank everyone who donated on the gofundme page. We would like to thank the people who donated gifts to this deserving cause Thanks to Fagan’s for donating all the gift bags Keanes Care Plus for supplying 175 individual gifts. The Topic who donated 100 copies of Ireland’s Own. Dealz manager Helena for all her help and gifts.Haven pharmacy for all their gifts.
Whelahans for their gift. Patsy Ryan for crocheting some Covid hearts.
Most of all we would like to thank the teachers and pupils of st Colman’s school and young players from St Lomans for their wonderful pictures, posters, poems and letters. They were a joy to read. Well done to everybody. Just a side note from yesterday’s post. We would also like to thank Bell Lane Coffee who donated coffee and truffles for the staff hampers for our recent fundraiser in Newbrook and Cluain Lir Nursing home. Also well done to Ciara Blundell and Julie McLaughlin for organising the event.
