Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Notes

Dinner Dance and Medal Presentation

Tickets, priced €40, are now available from Marie on 087 6716595 or Martina on 087 6370336 for our dinner dance and medal presentation to the 2018 junior football champions on Friday, March 15 in the Tullamore Court Hotel.

Music will be provided by The Lols with a DJ playing afterwards. Everyone in the local community is welcome to attend what promises to be the social highlight of the year.

New ladies football management

We would like to wish our new ladies football manager Martin Maher and his selectors Bernie Barrett and Myra Daly the best of luck for the coming season. Martin’s appointment represents something of a homecoming for him after he had managerial stints with the St Oliver Plunkett’s and Ringtown hurlers to name but two clubs in recent years.

New addition

The club would like to welcome Conor Delaney on board following his recent transfer from Stradbally. A member of the Stradbally team that won the Laois SFC title in 2016 when they famously denied Portlaoise a 10-in-a-row, Conor promises to be a major addition as we return to the intermediate ranks after a six-year absence.

Last Man Standing 2019

It's that time of the year again, less than a week to go to our now annual National League Last Man Standing competition, which is run by Mel Kiernan. Who will take over as champion from Aaron McNamee and walk away with the €400 prize money?

To enter, you just have to pay €10 to any club player or member and provide an email address as this will be your means of making your selection each week and receiving instructions and confirmation of your selections. All money raised will go towards the development of the club.

Underage

We are currently organising our underage and mentors for 2019 and looking to encourage as many children as possible to play with Kilbeggan Shamrocks. If you are interested in having your child involved or you would like to be involved as a mentor, please contact coaching officer Fergal Fox or any member of the committee.

Lotto

Last week's lucky numbers were 2, 15, 20 and 24. Caroline Harte, Rahugh and DLS Kelly, Cornaher were the Match 3 winners. This week's draw takes place in the Saddler’s Inn with the jackpot standing at €15,000. Tickets, costing €2, can be purchased locally. Thank you for your continued support.

Happy birthday Martina!

Our treasurer Martina Rochford celebrated a milestone birthday with family and friends in The Barn, Tyrrellspass last Saturday night. Happy birthday Martina!

Westmeath

Congratulations to the Westmeath footballers and hurlers on their O’Byrne and Kehoe Cup successes last weekend. Our very own Pat Lynagh, in his capacity as Leinster Council treasurer, had the honour of presenting the Cups to captains Killian Daly and Tommy Doyle respectively.
