Ballinagore NS 6-07  St. Tola's 6-12

Ballinagore boys school team put in another fine performance against St Tola’s from Delvin on Thursday in Ballinagore. This was a very good game of football played by two evenly matched teams. We started brightly and led 1-02 to 0-02 before St Tola’s struck for two quick goals to put them in the driving seat for the rest of the half. Down by nine points at half time, we showed great character to close the gap to two points with a few minutes to go until St Tola’s got their final goal to kill us off and run out winners. We will learn a lot from this game and our never say die attitude was great to see as we fought right until the final whistle. Well done to all the boys.

Ballinagore NS 8-06  Taghmon 5-03

Well done to the school girls football team who defeated Taughmon NS last Wednesday on a scoreline of 8-06 to 5-03. After edging a tight first half, the girls pulled clear with some great scores at the start of the second half. Great performances once again from all our girls.

Our thanks to Centra in Kilbeggan for this opportunity and we hope to see a great turnout to support the club on the day.

Ballinagore Macra

Congratulations to the Ballinagore Macra girls sevan-a-saide team who reached the national final on Sunday. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be as they lost out to strong Cork opposition but they beat some tough competition to get to the final. Well done to all!

Weekends Results

The club sends its congratulations to Kilbeggan Shamrocks on their fully deserved victory in the Junior Championship Final. Managed by former Ballinagore manager, Keith Higgins, and with former selector, Damien McLoughlin, James Higgins and Mattie McCormack on their management team there was great experience on the line to lead the team to success. We wish them well as they embark on their Leinster campaign. Congratulations also to Shandonagh on their win in the Intermediate final. Finally, commiserations to Castletown Geoghegan hurlers on their narrow defeat to Clonkill in the Senior semi-final.
