Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Notes

Leinster champions

Heartiest congratulations to Mercy Secondary School on their 3-9 to 2-8 victory over Scoil MacDara, Templeogue in the Leinster PP Schools junior 'C' final in Kinnegad last Monday, May 21.

Trailing by 0-8 to 2-4 at half-time after playing with the wind, the Kilbeggan lads defied the odds by scoring three second half goals per Evan Connell (two) and top-scorer Jordan McDonnell to pull off a famous win. The success is a culmination of a lot of hard work and over 70 training sessions under manager Ryan Delaney.

Captain fantastic

Congratulations are also in order for our very own Mairead McCormack who captained Westmeath to a Leinster intermediate camogie title and on receiving the Player of the Match award in Birr last Saturday.

Go Games

We were delighted to host two Go Games blitzes in the past week. On Tuesday evening, we welcomed U10 teams from Caulry, Tubberclair, Moate and Maryland/Tang to St. James' Park. On Saturday morning, we were joined by our neighbours Lilliput Gaels and Tyrrellspass for an U8 blitz which was played in glorious sunshine.

Lotto

Last week's lucky numbers were 16, 17, 26 and 27. Eunan Lawlor was the only Match 3 winner. The jackpot has now been capped at €15,000 with McNamara's being the venue for this week's draw. Tickets can be purchased from local shops for €2. Thank you for your continued support.
