The Late Bobby Buckley
It is with deep regret we record the death of Bobby Buckley, Ballynalahessara North, Clonea, Dungarvan which sad event occurred at Waterford Regional Hospital. Bobby spent the past 7 years in the loving care of the nursing staff at St. Michael's Ward, St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan. He was a native of Tipperary but came to Dungarvan some 50 years ago. He worked with Waterford Co-op and Quigley Magnesite. Bobby loved all types of sport and played with Kilgobinet hurling club who won the county final in 1961. He enjoyed a game of golf and was a member of the Gold Coast G.C. for many years.
A kind, gentle, unassuming man, Bobby was held in high esteem by all and his passing is much regretted. May he rest in peace.
At Mass in St. Laurence's Church, Ballinroad, celebrated by Very Rev, Richard Doherty assisted by Very Rev. Tim O'Riordan, the choir sang some beautiful hymns while Kilgobinet GAA Club and the Gold Coast Golf Club formed a guard of honour for the funeral cortege.
His coffin was draped in the Kilgobinet colours. Bobby will be greatly missed and mourned by his wife Patricia; sons Billy, James, Patrick and Michael; brothers John and Noel, sisters Margaret, Patricia, Philomena, Eileen, Teresa and Ann, as well as nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.
