Waterford manager Derek McGrath has urged the county's supporters to embrace the fact that the Munster SHC final is in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick.

Much has been made of the distance that Waterford supporters will have to travel for this year's provincial final.

There were only two venues available for the final and they were the Gaelic Grounds and Tipperary's home, Semple Stadium.

McGrath admitted to the Waterford News & Star that he was glad that the decision was made to host the final in Limerick and he feels that the county's supporters should do likewise.

"Following on from what Paddy Joe (county board chairman) said, we'd just like to appeal to Waterford people to concentrate on getting into Limerick rather than focusing on how to get out of Limerick and being negative about it," said McGrath.

"If something is said often enough it becomes engrained in people's mindsets in terms of the negativity surrounding the venue. We're just hopeful that people will get behind us and support us."
