Thoughts in Waterford are now turning to June Back Holiday weekend and the championship.

The county's footballers and hurlers both enter the premier competition over the first weekend of June, which leaves the respective management teams with precious little time to fine-tune their preparations.

The footballers will probably travel to Killarney to face Kerry in the first round of the Munster SFC on Saturday June 1st (unless Tipperary surprise the Kingdom the previous weekend).

The following day, it's Munster SHC quarter-final time at Semple Stadium with Na Deise locking horns with Clare.

The hurlers begin their build-up to that game when they take on Tipperary in a challenge at Carrick-on-Shannon tomorrow night (Friday). Tweet
