Fitz: Tipp will fancy their chances

Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald celebrates after victory over Cork in the Munster SHC final replay at Semple Stadium.
Davy Fitzgerald insists that Tipperary are well over the disappointment of their surprise Munster SHC first round collapse at the hands of Cork earlier this summer.

Writing in the Irish Daily Star ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland hurling semi-final, the Waterford manager said: "Tipperary were written off pretty quickly in a lot of quarters after they were hammered by Cork in the Munster championship this year, but I wrote in this column that they were far from finished.

"In May, they were still suffering a hangover from last year's All-Ireland final, but that's well out of the system now and they are going to be fancying their chances of getting another crack at Kilkenny next month.

"They seem to have sorted their defence out, Shane McGrath made a big difference when he went back to midfield the last day against Galway and we all know that they have some of the best forwards in the country.

"They have great movement up front and that's something that we are going to have to be very aware of this weekend."
