Browne gives Rebels fighting chance
August 07, 2010
Waterford veteran Tony Browne is refusing to write off Cork's chances against Kilkenny in tomorrow's All-Ireland hurling semi-final.
The Cats are raging hot favourites to remain on course for a fifth consecutive All-Ireland title, but Browne - who is preparing for Waterford's semi-final against Tipperary on Sunday week - feels Cork have nothing to lose and expects them to put it up to Brian Cody's all-conquering side.
"Kilkenny are probably one of the best teams of all time and they are going to be very hard to beat," the Vodafone Player of the Month for July said.
"Take Kilkenny out of the equation and everyone else has a chance.
"In saying that, with the Cork-Kilkenny tradition I don't think Cork will have any fear going up against Kilkenny. They don't have anything to lose either. I wouldn't be surprised if Cork were to give them a decent game."
