Limerick loom large (x 2)

March 11, 2010
The Waterford footballers and hurlers both face Limerick in the national league this weekend.

On Saturday night, the big ball merchants travel to the Gaelic Grounds for a 19.30 throw-in. A win would set Waterford up nicely for a tilt at promotion but they're up against the favourites in the division so they'll have to improve considerably upon their draws with Carlow and Longford.

On Sunday afternoon, at Fraher Field, the Decies hurlers entertain the Treaty County in a Division One clash sure to attract plenty of attention due to the ongoing controversy surrounding Justin McCarthy's tenure as Limerick boss.

While the visitors are guaranteed to be below strength, Davie Fitz gave match time to the likes of Dan Shanahan, Eoin Murphy, John Mullane and Seamus Prendergast in last weekend's challenge match against Carlow, so the Waterford team selection will be interesting.
