Footballers host midlanders
March 04, 2010
Longford are next on the horizon for Waterford's footballers - at Fraher Field on Sunday March 7.
The Decies kept their promotion hopes alive with a draw against Carlow last time out but they are now up against one of Division Four's top sides as Longford played in Division Three last year.
Glenn Ryan's charges have made a poor start to their campaign, losing to both Carlow and Limerick, and will be anxious to get some points on the board at Dungarvan this weekend.
The hosts will be without captain Tony Grey who was sent off for an off-the-ball incident in the dying moments of the Carlow game. Grey picked up a four-week ban and will also miss Waterford's next match - against Limerick.
A win for Waterford would send out a clear message to the other teams in this division and would see them into the Limerick game high on confidence.
