Deise include four newcomers
February 19, 2010
Jerome Meagher, Liam Lawlor, Maurice Shanahan and Tommy Connors will make their NHL debuts for Waterford against Dublin at Walsh Park on Sunday.
Meagher and Lawlor are both named in the full back line, with Shanahan and Connors flanking Kevin Moran in the half forward line. They get their opportunities in the absence of half a dozen of the squad's most experienced players, namely Tony Browne, Dan Shanahan, John Mullane, Ken McGrath and the suspended duo of Eoin Kelly and Eoin McGrath.
UCC student Richie Foley is named alongside Jamie Nagle in a new-look midfield partnership, while former All-Star Stephen Molumphy is included at left corner forward just days after his return from a six-month tour of duty in Chad with the Defence Forces.
Waterford (SH v Dublin): C Hennessy; J Meagher, L Lawlor, N Connors; D Prendergast, M Walsh, J Murray; J Nagle, R Foley; M Shanahan, K Moran, T Connors; S Walsh, G Hurney, S Molumphy.
