Fitz calls for calm

February 18, 2010
Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald believes that Croke Park should intervene in Limerick's growing dispute between management and players.

Fitzgerald has been an interested observer of the ongoing row Limerick, while even more so with the feud that broke out in his native Clare, which has since been resolved.

The former Clare goalkeeper knows that there are two sides to every story and he feels that communication is the key to a happy medium.

"There's wrong probably on both sides," said Fitzgerald. "Trust me, on the management side of things, you will get things wrong, without a shadow of doubt, but it's important to have dialogue and thrash things out.

"We don't need to go down this road of sacking managers or stupid things like that. We are an amateur game. There's always two points to every story and we have to find a happy medium with that, which is very important, but there has to be someone that's independent there to say the management are out of line or the players are out of line or whatever the story is."
