SF qualifier: Lake men thump Na Deise

Westmeath had 18 points to spare against Waterford at Mullingar - 1-22 to 0-7.

The winners fired the first six points through Ronan O'Toole, Ger Egan (3), Joe Halligan and Tommy McDaniel before Tommy Prendergast got the visitors up and running in the 24th minute, the Lake County ahead by 0-9 to 0-1 at the break.

Denis Corroon and Halligan stretched the gap to ten ater the first six points of the second half were traded. O'Toole hit the game's only goal 15 minutes from the end as Jack Cooney's charges eased into the second round.
