Waterford football manager Tom McGlinchey has received an eight-week suspension arising from an incident which occurred during his side's Allianz League defeat to Carlow last month.

The Cork native was banned for using abusive language towards a match official and has decided against appealing the sanction.

It means he will serve a touchline ban for the remainder of the Deise's Allianz League campaign, starting this Sunday when they welcome Leitrim to Ardmore. Waterford are still seeking their first win in Division 4.
