Cavan took on Armagh at Gaelic Park Sunday under perfect weather conditions in the Senior football league. Cavan was outstanding from start to finish with Gary Walsh being in great form for the second game in a row. He ended up with 1-09 for the afternoon There was some other fine performances for Cavan with Ronan McGinley being an absolute rock on the backline ably assisted by Alan Carolan, Ciaran Shields and another Mullahoran man Daniel King. The two midfielders Brendan O'Sullivan and Sean Kelly worked well together, with Sean Kelly taking the penalty kick for Cavan and coolly converting. Gary Walsh with his ability to get around defenders and his speed was causing panic everytime he got the ball. Enda Reilly put in a fine afternoon's work scoring 1-04 as well as Richie Morgan 1-03 and James Connolly. The final score was Cavan 4-17 and Armagh 0-06. All in all Brendan Reilly the manager had to be pleased with Cavan's performance, however tougher opposition lie ahead. Their next game will be this Sunday June 16th against Tyrone.
