Boston GAA Update
June 06, 2013

The Aidan McAnespies senior footballers, who got their first points of the season with a good win over Donegal.
Last weekend saw the continuation of the senior football championship with a Chris Brady injury time goal stunning the Wolfe Tones as Christopher's took both points in an exciting final 15 minutes. Aidan McAnespies recorded their first win in the championship with a comfortable win over Donegal. The junior football championships also got off the ground. It was McAnespies and Donegal again, only this time Donegal had the easier time of it for both the Junior A1 and the Junior B football games to take 2 out of 3 on the day.
The Irish Festival takes place this weekend at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton Mass. The other 4 senior teams will be in action this coming Sunday as the festival goers will be treated to some live action on the main field. At senior level things will begin to take shape as the Connemara Gaels will meet Kerry, while Galway have the daunting task of trying to overcome the Shannon Blues. We will also have the Sheehan Cup hurling final between Tipperary and Fr. Tom Burke's. Fr. Tom's beat Wexford Wednesday night by a score of 2-14 to 2-12. Also in action are Cork and Wolfe Tones in the Junior A1 section, while in junior A2 Galway meet Shannon Blues.
Also, the Junior B football championship sees Hartford host the New England Celtics on Saturday evening in Hartford. Earlier in the day, the Portland Hurling Club will host Worcester in the junior C hurling championship. The Youth Board will have a chance to show their stuff with underage games featuring at the festival on Saturday at the ICC.
