Cavan New York share the spoils

Cavan took on Donegal in the senior football divison on Sunday June 3rd at Gaelic Park, New York, on a very warm humid day. Donegal got off to a flying start scoring 1-03 to Cavan 0-01 within the first ten mins of the game.
Cavan were not playing well, with Doegal quicker to the ball and dominating in nearly all areas. It was half way through the first half when Alan McCann was shown the red card, it definitely was going to be an uphill battle for Cavan for the rest of the game. Just before halftime Gary Walsh got through for a great goal which made the scoreline look a little better. The halftime score Donegal 2-06 to Cavan 1-05.
Donegal got off to a great start to the second half scoring 0-06 to Cavan 0-01. Slowly Cavan starting winning the midfield battle and Gary Walsh got through for another goal and Enda Reilly followed that up with a goal of his own. Cavan were playing now with lots of guts and determination which was great to see. Playing with just 14 men and 1 minute left Gary Walsh again broke through to score his 3rd goal of the afternoon and also gave Cavan a one point lead . Who would have believe it. However Donegal with the last kick of the game tied it. The final score Cavan 4-08 to Donegal 2-14.
Gary Walsh was man of the match, however great performance from Enda Reilly who scored 1-7, in addition Ronan McGinley, Kieran Shields, Alan Carolan and Conor Cosgrove all put in solid performances.
