Silverware aplenty at Westmeath event in New York

Westmeath have already collected four trophies in 2019... They will be on display at the Westmeath Hurling & Football Club New York Dinner Dance and Awards Night in Rory Dolan's Restaurant & Bar, Yonkers next Saturday, May 4.

The four trophies collected already by Westmeath in 2019 will be on display at the Westmeath Hurling & Football Club New York Dinner Dance and Awards Night in Rory Dolan’s Restaurant & Bar, Yonkers next Saturday, May 4.

The Allianz Hurling League Division 2A and Allianz Football League Division 3 trophies along with the O'Byrne and Kehoe Cups will take pride of place at the event which gets underway at 7.30pm local time. Tickets, which cost $100 and include a buffet dinner and four-hour open bar, are still on sale. Everyone is welcome, including the many Mayo people who will be in the Big Apple for the weekend to support James Horan's men against New York in Gaelic Park on Sunday.

Special Guest is Conor Moore of Conor's Sketches, who played for the club a few years ago. There are also rumours that Marty Morrissey might make an appearance!

A great night is in store! 

The award recipients on the night will be – Guest of Honour: Mick Stones (Kilbeggan Shamrocks); Hurler of the Year: Jack Martin (New York); Intermediate Footballer of the Year: Michael Caterson (Castlederg, Co. Tyrone); Junior Footballer of the Year: Liam Beddows (Killucan); Clubman of the Year: Johnny Melia (Castlepollard); Lifetime Achievement Award: John Dunleavy (Coole).
