Gaelic Park hosted its final New York county board meeting last night ahead of its multi-million dollar redevelopment.
While the pitch will stay the same, a new clubhouse, ballroom, dressing rooms, conference rooms and offices will be constructed at the iconic Bronx venue which has been the home of New York GAA for the past 90 years. The GAA has contributed $2 million to the project which is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.
Many of the GAA's greatest players have graced Gaelic Park, which stands alone as the only GAA ground that had Christy Ring and Robert F Kennedy walk through its gates on the same afternoon.
