Thomas McCurtains club notes

May 14, 2019

It was a great day in Birmingham with our Camogs out in the first round of their league campaign. The day kicked off with the first game against Fr. Murphys. McCurtains came out on top in a hard fought game with a goal in the last minute to give them a single point win. The second game of the day was against Liverpool Wolfe Tones, and once again McCurtains came out on top with a 1-00 to 0-01 score. Tara's were up next in what was, on the scoreline at least, their most comprehensive win. The last game was against old rivals John Mitchells. A very physical game with the East London Ladies unfortunate to come out on the wrong side of the scoreline this time, 2-01 to 0-04.

Our Reserve Footballers received a walkover from St Brendans in the League.

Hard luck to the London Senior Hurling team who lost out to Meath in the first round of the Championship.

Training continues this week for all teams.

After a few slow weeks to start the season off, the games are really coming thick and fast for most of our teams. Goodmayes is the venue for our Ladies Footballers first Championship game on Wednesday evening against Holloway Gaels. Then on Saturday morning they travel to Peckham Rye to take on Tir Chonaill Gaels in the next round.

Also on Saturday the Mens Footballers are up against St Joes in the Murphy Cup Semi Final in Greenford. Then on Sunday our Camogie team travel over to Greenford for the second Intermediate League Blitz where they take on Tara's, Fr. Murphy's, Liverpool Wolfe Tones & John Mitchels again before the Reserve Footballers host St Keirnans in the second round of the League.

The following Thursday our footballers welcome Cú Chulainns to Goodmayes for the Shiels Cup Quarter Final. We wish all the teams the best of luck.
